Who can File?
The permanent resident card (Form I-551) acts as evidence of your registration with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). It is a testament of your willingness, as a permanent resident, to abide by U.S. immigration laws. Furthermore, it is proof of your lawful status, permitting you to live in the United States and accept employment freely. The permanent residence card is also known as the “Green Card”.
This kit has been developed to assist permanent residents in identifying which application is suitable for their needs and applying to replace or renew a lost, stolen or mutilated card. According to the Immigration and Nationality Act, permanent residents in the U.S. who are over eighteen years of age and are issued a certificate of alien registration or the alien registration receipt card, are expected to carry these documents with them at all times. Failure to comply by these guidelines can be charged with a misdemeanor and may be subjected to imprisonment.
For renewal purposes, applications may be submitted up to six months prior to the date of expiration on the I-551 card.
Don't delay, the sooner you begin with the procedure the better. We compiled all the information, instructions, updates, and forms in one easy-to-use complete Kit.
Over the last 11 years, thousands of successful applicants have used these kits worldwide.
