INS Terminates VWP Designation
for Argentina
|
|
February 25, 2002 The U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service
(INS) has terminated Argentina's designation for
the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) because of the current
economic crisis in that country and "the increase
in the number of Argentine nationals attempting
to use the program to live and work illegally"
in the U.S. Argentine nationals who intend to travel
to the U.S. for business or pleasure must acquire
a nonimmigrant visa at a U.S. consulate or embassy
before their arrival in the U.S. |
