Some Cyprus US Visa Applicants Eligible for In-Person Appearance Waivers

The US embassy in Nicosia, has announced that some visa applicants may not be required to go to the embassy in person to apply for visas, to travel to the United States. In order to make it easier to travel to the United States, the US embassy in Nicosia has waived the personal interviews for some eligible visa applicants. Some of the visa applicants who look forward to travel to America to study, to work or for tourism, may not be required to appear for interviews and may not be required to go to the embassy in person to apply for visas.

If the US consular officer feels that an interview is not necessary, you may obtain a visa without appearing for a visa interview, if you are applying for a visa for the first time or if you are applying for visa renewal. Interviews have been waived in order to make the US visa application process simpler and easier. The embassy will quickly process the visa applications and permit the people to travel to the United States sooner and they may not be required to appear for interviews and wait for a long time to get their visas.

Children below age 14 and visa applicants of age 79 and more, who are applying for US visas for the first time, need not appear at the embassy for interviews. They can just mail their visa applications to the embassy and the embassy will mail their visas after processing their applications, if they are eligible. But the applicants must not fail to mail their applications along with the required supporting documents. They can also renew their visas, if they meet certain eligibility requirements. Similarly, they must make sure that the application completely filled and signed, before mailing. If the application packet is incomplete, they may be required to report for interviews.
