Entrepreneurs Believe in Legal Immigration

Recent efforts to advance immigration reform in Congress collapsed, leaving no clear way forward to resolve one of the biggest problems in the US. But, many immigrant entrepreneurs are among those who believe that a new immigration system, putting the needs of the country first, should be passed.

Andrea Stone, the founder and CEO of management tech consulting firm, Dynamic Pro Inc, says that she was a legal immigrant to the US and that every immigrant should go through the legal process if they want to live in the country. Stone adds that the US has a fertile pro-business environment favoring new ideas and entrepreneurs.

The CEO of the California-based company, All Pro Solutions, Tiberiu Czentyre, is a Romanian immigrant who gained political asylum in the US after sitting out the two-year vetting process in the Netherlands. Czentyre says he is proud to be a US citizen and also backs a system that favors high-skilled immigrants.

Sweeping immigration changes have been sought by President Donald Trump, who wants to build a wall on the border between the US and Mexico and change the current US visa lottery system to an entry system based more on merit. But, lawmakers seem no closer to passing any kind of new immigration legislation. In June, the House of Representatives rejected a new immigration bill, sponsored by the Republican Party, resulting in another deadlock in Congress. The White House insists that lawmakers have a duty to approve a new immigration system that serves the country’s interest and removes legal loopholes.
