A continuing resolution has been passed by the US to extend the Regional Center Immigrant Investor Program, better known as the EB-5 US visa scheme. The program has been universally extended ever since it was first enacted and continues to have strong support on both sides of the political spectrum.
The EB-5 US visa Regional Center program enables as many as 10,000 green cards per year to be made available to applicants investing at least $500,000 in Targeted Employment Areas, which results in the creation of ten full-time, permanent new jobs for American workers. Permanent residence will be given to any qualifying investors, together with their spouse and any unmarried offspring under the age of 21.
The EB-5 US visa program remains unfamiliar to some but demand has surged in recent times as awareness of the scheme has grown in the Middle East. Tamer Award, the CEO of leading Dubai investment immigration advisory, Prosper America, says that current events in the Middle East are expanding the program in the region, causing people to explore different options with regards to securing their families and diversifying their investments.
The demand for immigrant US visas in China has resulted in enormous backlogs for more than 20,000 Chinese immigrant investors who have already been given approval. Experts believe that other markets could soon face the same issue, with entrepreneurs all over the world heading to the US to discover new opportunities in the biggest global economy.
