The US Most Generous Nation on Immigration, Sessions Says

The US Most Generous Nation on Immigration, Sessions SaysAttorney General, Jeff Sessions defended his tough immigration position on Wednesday, by pointing out that the US remains the nation with the most generous policies on the issue in the entire world. This is even in spite of its recent attempts to crack down on illegal immigration under President Donald Trump.

On Fox News, Sessions said that the US is currently set to record the lowest month of illegal immigration on its border for as long as 17 years. This is just one week after the announcement of new federal measures, intended to get tough on unauthorized entries. Sessions reiterated that all undocumented immigrants are eligible for deportation and said that the US pleads with people to follow the rules by making their applications and waiting their turn like everyone else.

Sessions noted that 11 million people per annum are allowed to become permanent new residents of the US, making it the world’s most generous country on immigration but says that the system needs to regain its sense of lawfulness. Sessions is expected to pay a visit to the Mexico-US border with John Kelly, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, on Thursday, a week after his previous solo visit.

The former Senator added that he also believes the strong rhetoric from the Trump administration is going to continue to restore lawfulness and keep illegal immigration to the US at a very low rate.
