I-539 (Supplement A, For persons seeking V nonimmigrant status while in the United States or extension of V status)
If you are seeking V nonimmigrant status and are already in the United States or if you have V nonimmigrant status and wish to extend it, you must file USCIS Form I-539 (Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status) as well as USCIS Form I-539 (Supplement A, For persons seeking V nonimmigrant status while in the United States or extension of V status) at the same time. If approved, you will be able to remain in the US for as long as your status is offered or extended. V nonimmigrant status will not allow you to settle in the US permanently, however.
