The Notable Peruvian American astronaut Carlos Ismael Noriega, who helped build the International Space Station, was born on October 8, 1959. Noriega earlier worked for the U.S. Marine Corps and was later selected by NASA for the Astronaut Corps. He has conducted several missions as a NASA astronaut.
The French-born Chinese American cellist Yo-Yo Ma was born on October 7, 1955. He has produced more than 75 albums and has won 15 Grammy Awards. He is not only a cellist but also a songwriter. Guillermo del Toro Gómez, a Mexican American film director, producer, screenwriter and novelist will celebrate his birthday on October 9. He is well known for his work on Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth, Blade II and The Book of Life.
Deepak Chopra who will celebrate his birthday on October 22, is a renowned Indian American author, physician and public speaker. He has published more than 50 books and he is the founder of the Chopra Center for Well Being in La Jolla, California.
